The purpose of this case study is to showcase the design process and evolution of a liquidity and option pools app. The initial version of the app allowed users to deposit funds into liquidity pools to earn additional rewards. However, with the declining popularity of farms with liquidity pools, the team decided to implement an additional feature of option pools to increase income opportunities for users. The first app version provided users an ability to deposit in liquidity pools and receive income. We allowed to put deposits into ZAP pools to get extra rewards.
I've conducted several usability testing sessions to create an interface with both strong visual and usability. You can see how has the product changed from the first iteration to a final layout below.
By the first launch, we raised only $60k investments to conduct an audit and to launch minimal marketing campaign. However, by that time, farms with liquidity pools had already lost their market attractiveness.
We decided to implement a side feature (option pools) with the ability to make deposits in liquidity pools. Luckily, the team was able to leverage what already existed and enable users to use liquidity pools and option pools together, thereby generating additional income. We started building the second version.
The main page changed: we've added option product cards and redesigned the information block. I like this version more, because by this version creation I was working in a large telecom company and managed to get more experience in product design.
As “option pools” is a more complicated product I created detail pages for each option pool to describe all the product risks, implement all the needed functionality and remove the cognitive load from the user.
In option pool, the user can make a simple deposit in one of the selected currencies
He can also use an additional liquidity pool so that the funds lie there for the duration of the option contract as well.
It was important to highlight the possibility of choosing an option pool, as this is a disrupting feature of the project. The design shows the steps to make a deposit. This screen shows how the user can check that pool is chosen.
